Do I have to make a reservation in advance?

We highly recommend reserving a tour in advance as space per tour is limited. We accept Cash or Major Credit Cards.

What is your group (10 or larger) tour deposit and cancellation policy?

We require a 50% deposit in advance for all groups of 10 or larger.  Cancellation seven (7) days prior to tour will receive a full refund.  Three (3) days prior will receive a 50% refund and less than 3 days will forfeit the deposit.

What about parking?

We recommend using the nearby Racehorse Alley Parking Garage located on Race House Alley between Carlisle Street and Stratton Street.  If you do use a metered parking space, please make certain you have more than enough time on the meter. The Gettysburg street parking meters and the Parking Garage we recommended are all administered by the Gettysburg Parking Authority.

Should we tip our Guide?

Our professional, licensed guides are committed to providing first rate quality walking tours.  If you feel your Guide has given you an excellent tour, than gratuities are certainly appreciated. Tipping reflects customer appreciation for excellent services and is greatly appreciated but never required.

How long are the walks/tours?

Daytime tours are 90 min and Evening and Early Bird tours are 60 min of leisurely walking through the streets of Gettysburg. There are plenty of benches scattered throughout the town for your convenience,  The amount of walking varies depending on the pace of the group and the number of questions.  We encourage you to wear comfortable walking shoes, carry water, and dress for the weather.

Are walking tours handicap accessible?

Yes, and we can also structure our tours to fit the mobility of the individual or group.  Please call us in advance to make us aware of your needs.

What about the weather?

We usually do tours rain or shine. We know that on vacation you sometimes have one day devoted to certain activities, so we don’t cancel unless it is pouring, so if the weather is questionable, bring a raincoat or umbrella. We do have some umbrella’s available.

During the summer months, the heat index on the Gettysburg Streets can climb very high. We recommend that you carry water, wear sunscreen and sport a hat or visor.

In the interest of public safety, GBLTG reserves the right to cancel tours due to extreme weather conditions such as but not limited to lightning, icey conditions or heat index of 90 or above.

Can we bring our dog?

The Gettysburg Licensed Town Guides love dogs  We ask that you keep your dog on a leash, be mindful of other guests on the tour and pick up after your dog.  If you forget a baggie to clean up after your dog ask us for one.  We’d hate for you to leave something behind on the tour - except kind words, and maybe a tip for your guide.
